Welcome to the Jamaica Wedding Professionals Association Website - We are happy to have you!

We are excited that you found us and we would love to share some details with you based on our most frequently asked questions (FAQs) so that you know that you are in the right place and how we can support you.

The short answer is yes, there is.  The JWPA is a membership based professional organization that is run by volunteers within the industry in the position of the Board of Directors but we have to earn to run the Association and its programs to better support you.

There is an annual fee of US$17 per month for membership dues. We are happy to have you pay the full amount upfront if that works better for you! The fees will be waived until December 30, 2020.

There are a couple of notable exceptions for fees as make up artists and hairstylists pay a little less and venues pay a little more.  Check out the membership application form here for complete details.

Our mandate is to strengthen the local wedding industry through training and development, delivered through, workshops, conferences, expos and retreats to support our professional community.  In order to make this happen, we need a management and planning team. Funds therefore go towards stipends, production of events, training and development of our team.

Our relationships with international wedding professionals offer us the opportunity to expand your network and connect you with international training at discounted rates. Also available to you, is the opportunity for work in other countries as well as publication of your work in association with international professionals who come to Jamaica for style shoots and promotional branding for their companies.

We provide the opportunities for you to place your brand where your potential clients and international professionals can see you, however we do not directly provide clients to our members. We work closely with you to provide visibility, recommendations and opportunities for the clients who reach out to us to access you through the Association. We provide the platform; you engage its benefits and work it to create your client base.

We encourage all our members to look at us as your greatest marketing asset. Once you engage and do the work, you will see results and benefit from our platform and it’s relationships. Looking forward to welcoming you onboard.
